About Me

·3 mins

Welcome to reliable.codes, where I channel my passion for coding, detail-oriented thinking, and over 15 years of IT experience into a structured order of thoughts. I’m Oliver Lippert, and if the term “nerd” resonates with you, you’re in the right place. For a more detailed overview of my professional journey, you can check out my LinkedIn profile.

In the ever-evolving world of IT, I find myself navigating through complex projects for international organizations, wearing multiple hats from intensive meeting sessions to diving deep into code bases for debugging.

How I started coding #

Born in Germany in 1990, my journey with computers began in 1994 when our first PC arrived. Fast forward to 2002, a pivotal moment occurred during a lunch break when my brother introduced me to HTML and CSS, igniting my fascination with the idea of making my name appear on the screen.

How I turned “professional” #

Despite a rocky time in school (I was lazy), I pursued my passion for coding, culminating in an internship at a software company in 2007. By 2010, I proudly embraced the title of a professional coder. Alongside my professional journey, I delved into the world of side-hustles in 2012, crafting WordPress Themes and Plugins, and honing my ability to adapt swiftly to new challenges.

A Continuous Journey #

While my career path has seen different employers and diverse projects, my side-hustle remains a constant, contributing to my adaptability and commitment to staying abreast of the ever-changing IT landscape. I am committed to learning, taking time for reflection, and consistently seeking improvement.

In 2016 I found myself developing a Spam-Filter for Parallels Plesk for example, to extend the service of my (back then) hosting service for a couple of hundred websites. Some months down the road I saw that coded rules cannot identify Spam good enough, so I added AI using tensorflow. Of course that meant to learn about AI first.

Starting reliable.codes #

Every so often, I find myself immersed in projects that I can only describe as “crazy.” To cope with the overwhelming influx of thoughts and stop spamming a friend of mine with screenshots, videos, and texts, I decided to launch reliable.codes. This blog serves as a platform to structure and share my insights on coding, project management, and the intricate details that make or break IT solutions.

With reliable.codes, I aspire to build a knowledge base that not only benefits me but also provides valuable insights for fellow developers. So buckle up, and join me on this journey as we explore the fascinating world of coding, one structured thought at a time.
